Welcome to Mathnasium of Lakeview-Mississauga

Hello. I’m Erena Shkodra, the owner and centre director at Mathnasium of Lakeview-Mississauga South. We recently opened our math-only learning centre on Lakeshore and Cawthra, right across from the Dairy Cream, and we look forward to working with the neighborhood kids in grades K-12.

Why I decided to open a Mathnasium Centre

10407003_668183156660977_1522774115037559031_nWith over 15 years of teaching experience, primarily teaching kids from Grades 1-6, I found that I had a knack for helping students who struggle in general and particularly with math. It’s no big secret that many kids have difficulty understanding math concepts as presented in the classroom, so I decided to open a learning centre where I can help children learn math in a way that makes sense to them. After looking through many different math programs, I chose to go with the Mathnasium Method™ because of two primary reasons.

Firstly, I found that the curriculum offered by Mathnasium was above and beyond what is offered by other programs. Secondly, I love Mathnasium’s core vision about not just teaching math, but about loving and respecting h and making them the priority. I wanted to create a fun and caring place where children are respected for who they are and are taught math in the way they learn. I did not want them to feel like they were coming to another classroom, but to a relaxed environment where they feel valued and nourished not only mentally but spiritually as well.

Now that Mathnasium of Lakeview – Mississauga is finally open, I look forward to sharing my knowledge with all the children so that school and life becomes easier for them.
